No one can be you better than you! God made you very strategically and wonderfully. You’re no accident and your giftedness is purposeful and intentional. The Apostle Paul wrote his letter to the Roman believers, in chapter 12, verse 3, and he said, “For I say through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think but to think soberly, according as God has dealt to every man the measure of faith.” This verse is such a powerful instruction to every follower of Jesus to “operate in your giftedness.”
God has placed endowments of His person in you. Paul refers to this as grace. This grace is recognized through spiritual and practical strengths. It can be realized as people skills, personality, whit, humor, mercy, temperament, a helping predisposition, and into the arena of spiritual gifts, as mentioned in 1 Corinthians 12:8-10. The list can go on and on because everyone is unique and different. Basically, it’s who God made you to be. It’s so important to be comfortable and at home in your skin. It’s human nature to want to mimic or emulate someone we look up to. When you see a talented person or someone that’s successful in your field of endeavor, human nature is to copy giftedness, in hopes that it will render the same outcome. God wants you to be content, fulfilled, joyful, and thriving as you! Remember, no one can be you better than you! Part of operating in giftedness calls upon you to avoid being intoxicated with your self. Intoxicating thoughts are selfish in nature, self serving and ego flattering ambitions. It’s great to have a strong work ethic and to be goal oriented and forward thinking in our lives, but intoxicating thoughts are delusional and leave a person discontent, frustrated, depressed, and unfulfilled. When you operate in giftedness you will thrive and flourish in your world. Those gifts that God placed in you will produce fruit because they have divine characteristics; God put them in you! How about praying today and ask God to give you clarity as to what your giftedness is. I imagine you already have a pretty good idea. Then, get busy being you! No one can be you better than you!
